Hello Chilopod family! We have some exciting news to share with you. Chilopod has been offered an honorarium of $15,000 to return to Burning Man this year! We couldn't be more thrilled. That gives our fundraising a substantial foundation, and we'll continue to build upon it. Please save the following dates of upcoming events and check-out the volunteer opportunities to join the Chilopod team. 1) BAY AREA PROJECTS / THEME CAMPS SPEED DATING Saturday, 3/26/22 in San Francisco: 6:30pm-9pm The Waller Center (Gymnasium) 1525 Waller Street (Upper Haight) This is immediately following the Rainbow Leadership Summit which starts Friday evening at the same location. Lawrence will present Chilopod at the Projects and Theme Camps event after the summit. All are welcome. 2) 2022 CHILOPOD NEST CONSTRUCTION Sunday, 3/27/22 in West Berkeley: 1pm-5pm 1025 Murray Street (near Ashby & 9th) Our fearless leader, Lawrence, has wrangled a home for Chilopod 2022. If you like smashing things and getting a little dirty, this party will be for you. Bring your tools. We will demolish a corner office, remove debris, and modify a door opening. We want to make sure Chilopod will be comfortable in her new nest while we ready her for 2022's Playa party. 3) CHILOPOD ALL-HANDS-ON-DECK POTLUCK PARTY Sunday, 4/24/22, at Metro Lighting: 4pm-7pm 2240 San Pablo Avenue Join the party! We need your help and every bit counts. Learn about our specific plans for 2022, and how you can contribute. Everyone is welcome, all ages. Bring friends, families, and potential new crew members to the Chilopod 2022 kick-off party! This will be an all-hands-on deck event. We're looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces at this potluck that will include music by DJ Anne Luv-Le Allison. Please bring a dish to share, as well as your interests, expertise, and "checkbook." 4) FUNDRAISING CHAIR, VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, GRAPHICS GURU: You want to help but you aren't sure where to begin? Do you have experience with fundraising or volunteer coordination? Are you an organizer? A graphic designer? A videographer? We have roles for you. The team will: -Formulate a plan to raise $30,000 -Produce a fundraising video -Plan fundraising events (silent auction, parties, etc) -Develop and procure swag for donation thank-you gifts -Identify and maintain relationships with supporters -Work closely with communications and social media
